The Student Experience
By now, your students are immersed into the story of a young girl, Ko, who is separated from her "kin" in deep wilderness.
Ko discovers a guidebook to help her find her way back to her family.
Along the way she encounters story problems in which she must calculate solutions to "Journey On." This is an example of one of her challenges- a graphing coordinate activity.
The Ko's Journey Difference
For years, math software has followed a predominant pattern of including a fancy animation for a concept to which it is unrelated. A horse jumps because you added numbers correctly. A fireball is thrown because you answered the multiplication problem.
Ko's Journey takes a fundamentally different approach. The problem and animation are embedded into a context where the story, math and imagery make sense, bridging imagination and standards of learning.
"A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing." - George Lucas
